ACC Tournament Guidelines

Host Sites

ACC Internet tournaments must be held at an approved internet host site—eCrib+, GameColony, or Cribbage Pro. All three playing sites are free to everyone, with options for advanced features available for a fee payable directly to the respective site platforms.

Players and TDs must comply with the "Terms of Use and Code of Conduct" of each site in addition to the ACC Code of Conduct. The ACC insists on ethical play across all formats. Players are subject to disciplinary action by either the ACC Internet Commissioner or the host site administration if found to be violating any policies.

Mode of Play

ACC Internet cribbage tournaments feature traditional, six-card cribbage hands played between two opponents, with the winner being the first player to reach 121 points. The ACC does not recognize alternate variations for sanctioned tournament play or IRP awards (such as doubles, jokers, toss 5's, back up 10, lowball, or Canadian Doubles).

Tournament Formats

Official online play is restricted to three traditional cribbage tournament styles:

Style A Grass Roots 9-Game Format
Mirroring weekly live club play, every participant plays 9 individual games against 9 different opponents.
Scoring Matrix: Win = 2 Game Points • Skunk = 3 Game Points • Loss = 0 Game Points
Final standings are determined by total game points, cumulative wins, and net spread points. All tracking and statistical compiling are managed automatically by specialized scoring software developed by the ACC.
Style B Best of 3 Single Elimination Brackets
Similar to live weekend tournament playoffs. Players advance through a standard single-elimination bracket by winning two out of three games in their assigned match. Initial pairings are determined by a random draw. Random byes may be automatically issued during the first or second rounds to secure cleanly balanced bracket fields. Each subsequent round reduces the field by exactly half until a single undefeated tournament champion remains.
Style C Competitive Seasonal Matchmaking
Utilized exclusively within the multiplayer environment on Cribbage Pro. Rather than completing a bracket in a single sitting, matches are contested via an automated engine across a 12-week block. The ACC calendar features 4 designated seasonal tournaments of roughly 90 days each. Due to the length of this tournament block, higher IRPs are awarded. Note: Playing a 12-week seasonal block tabulates as 10 tracking entries against your 150 annual tournament limit.
Tournament Sign-up Windows

Tournament Directors (TDs) open registration lobbies approximately 20 minutes prior to the posted start time. Arriving early ensures clear registration placement.

eCrib+ Check in opens 15 minutes before start time and is automatically closed by the program software exactly at the scheduled start time. Rules are broadcast 2 minutes before game time.
GameColony All players must sign up and be inside the ACC tournament lounge 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. This is to provide the TD enough time to verify that they have accurately entered all participants into the tournament. The rules are run 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. Once the TD has begun to run the rules, they are no longer able to add more participants to that tournament.
Cribbage Pro With this unique format, there is no single tournament registration process. Once you complete your 5 qualifying matches, you are officially entered into the tournament. Entry tracking operates continuously within the seasonal schedule blocks of roughly 90 days at a time, as determined by the site.
Player Eligibility

Any account holder on the hosting site may participate in open tournament rooms per host infrastructure guidelines. However, to officially accumulate Internet Rating Points (IRPs), players must maintain an active ACC membership in good standing and undergo specific username certification.

Violations of tournament rules, the ACC Code of Ethics, or platform Terms of Use will result in structural player suspensions or outright tournament bans. Eligibility and disciplinary status are handled under the direct review of the Internet Commissioner, the Vice President of Competition, and the ACC Ethics Committee.

Tournament Authorization

To record official historical data, all sanctioned online events must be directly authorized by the ACC Internet Cribbage Commissioner. Any adjustments to standard tournament play rules must be explicitly approved and announced a minimum of three days in advance via this portal and the official ACC Community Facebook page.

All structured event notifications must distinctly publish the event date, target clock time, hosting app platform, rule configuration, and specialized bracket variants. Major structural events sponsored by the national organization must also secure print space in Cribbage World at least 30 days prior to registration closing dates.
